Download CluePad

Version 0.2.0, as a disk image. macOS 14 Sonoma or later · Apple Silicon.

Installing

1. Open CluePad.dmg and drag CluePad into Applications.
2. Launch it. The activation window opens.
3. Paste the licence key from your purchase email and click Activate.
4. CluePad lives in the menu bar. Press ⌥⌘N to make your first note.

If macOS says it cannot check the app

CluePad is not notarised by Apple yet, so the first launch needs one extra step. On macOS 15 and later the old right-click → Open trick no longer works:

1. Double-click CluePad in Applications and dismiss the warning.
2. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security and scroll to the bottom.
3. Next to “CluePad was blocked”, click Open Anyway and authenticate.

You only do this once. It is a signing formality, not a judgement about the app — macOS shows it for every developer who has not yet paid for Apple’s notarisation service. Notarisation is in progress, and once it lands CluePad will open with no warning at all.

Checking what you downloaded

The file is served from GitHub’s release storage rather than from this site, so you can verify it independently. Compare the checksum:

shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/CluePad.dmg

It should match the sha256 line on the release. If it does not, do not open it — email hello@shubhamraut.tech instead.
